SUNDAY

A BENEFIT DINNER!

This Heart & Home themed dining event at ALKEME is another way to participate in production fundraising for Phantom Roots.

About the meal...

The spirit of traditional table sharing in Vietnam is known as Cơm Gia Đình or Family Meal. A cultural experience of curated dishes presented as harmonious sets to create a sense of connected belonging. Featuring humble yet refined comfort foods that are heritage rich and full of heart.

The table is set. Gather with us in celebrating family storytelling.

Local documentary filmmaker Erica Nguyen bridges the Vietnamese diaspora with her latest project Phantom Roots: a road memoir that involves the whole lineage in theatrical renderings of personal history. This Spring, Erica heads back to Vietnam to recreate

the dreams penned quietly into her grandmother's diary. A resilient testimony about sacrifice and choosing the lives we wish for ourselves.

What can one family origin story do to address the isolation and mental health challenges of the AAPI community? Let's see how film combined with the love language of food can generate healing.

Reservations $45

Donations received in addition to the meal will benefit the filmmaking team directly
